Adam Schiff, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district, recently shared his concerns over recent political and environmental events via social media. Serving in Congress since 2001, Schiff has been vocal about various national issues.
On February 1, 2025, Schiff addressed the firing of numerous prosecutors at the DC U.S. Attorney's office and agents at the FBI by Donald Trump. In his tweet, he described this event as "Another Friday Night Massacre" where the President replaced individuals loyal to the Constitution with those loyal to him.
Later that day, Schiff commented on the actions following Kash Patel's nomination as FBI Director. Despite promises of no retribution from Patel, Schiff highlighted what he called a "grotesque purge" at the FBI and criticized Trump's overnight issuance of 1550 pardons after Bondi had stated they would be examined individually. He remarked that "Their confirmation commitments mean nothing."
In another post on February 1, 2025, Schiff expressed concern over water management decisions amidst ongoing fires in Los Angeles. He criticized the decision not to direct water to areas where fires were contained and noted its future impact on farmers during summer. He condemned this as a "waste of precious water" motivated by publicity rather than necessity.
