Adam Schiff, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 30th district since 2001, issued a series of warnings and criticisms regarding recent federal actions in a sequence of posts on his social media account.
On October 16, 2025, Schiff posted: “Let this renewed threat against San Francisco be a warning to every community: Trump will not stop with L.A., Portland, D.C., or Chicago. Your city could be next. Using our servicemembers for law enforcement is illegal, and I’m prepared to do everything I can to block this”. The post referenced concerns about potential federal intervention in major cities and the use of military personnel for domestic law enforcement.
In another post on October 17, 2025, Schiff stated: “Using taxpayer dollars for propaganda has been illegal for nearly 75 years. That hasn’t stopped Donald Trump.” He alleged violations related to government-funded messaging efforts.
Later that same day, he added: “Like I said, and like many have pointed out: these layoffs are blatantly illegal.” This message appeared to address workforce reductions which Schiff characterized as unlawful.
Schiff has represented California’s 30th district since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960, he currently resides in Burbank. He holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
