Representative Adam Schiff of California’s 30th district took to social media recently to express strong opinions on various political and economic subjects. Schiff, who has served in Congress since 2001 and formerly in the California Senate, addressed the influence of prominent business figures and critiqued recent policy speeches.
On April 2, 2025, Schiff tweeted about the perceived threats from influential individuals with significant business interests, stating “Donald Trump and Elon Musk think they can destroy our country for their own benefit. No they can’t. Not if we band together to stop them.”
Following this, in a tweet from the same day, Schiff offered his perspective on the President’s “Liberation Day” speech. He remarked that the speech might spell economic hardship for some populations, as “many Americans will be liberated from: – Being able to afford groceries – Much of their retirement savings – Any hope of buying a home. As for lower prices? Just the opposite.”
Continuing his critique, Schiff commented on April 3, 2025, about increasing inflation concerns attributed to policy decisions. He posted, “Prices are already rising, families are already suffering. And Trump’s ill-considered tariffs are only going to make matters worse. This is ‘liberation’ for who, exactly?” This implies that the representative finds the current economic strategies fall short for the average American family.
