Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, has recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing concerns about federal policy impacts on California and national issues.
On August 28, 2025, Schiff criticized the United States Department of Agriculture’s reorganization plan, stating, “.@USDA’s reorganization plan fails California. And our farmers deserve time to express the harms they’ll face if this plan moves forward. @SenAmyKlobuchar and I are urging USDA to provide adequate opportunity for communities to voice their concerns.”
In another post dated August 29, 2025, Schiff commented on healthcare funding and legislative decisions by Republican lawmakers: “When Republicans cut Medicaid, they cut funding to hospitals. When they cut hospital funding, they cut critical hospital staff. When they cut hospital staff, it puts lives at risk. Just another consequence of the GOP’s Big Ugly Bill.”
Later that day, he addressed former President Donald Trump’s actions regarding security measures and rhetoric: “Another dangerous reminder that there’s no agenda more important to Donald Trump than retribution. He feeds conspiracy theories to his followers. Makes their targets more vulnerable. Then pulls their security. This is a dark road. And we have a President that is”
Schiff has served in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
