On February 21, 2025, Schiff addressed the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine in a tweet: “Russia invaded Ukraine. This is Putin’s war.” He criticized former President Donald Trump for not acknowledging this fact and urged the Senate to take a stand.
Later that day, Schiff turned his attention to data privacy concerns in another tweet: “Elon and other unvetted Trump enablers shouldn’t have access to the entire nation’s personal and financial data.” He announced efforts to block such access through a forced vote, questioning whether his Republican colleagues would support this measure.
In a third tweet posted on February 21, 2025, Schiff criticized actions taken within the Department of Justice related to Trump’s legal team: “Todd Blanche, Trump’s criminal defense lawyer, promised he would follow the advice of career ethics officials at the Department of Justice.” He noted that these officials were subsequently fired and accused those responsible of undermining justice by dismantling key structures within the department.
