Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, posted a series of tweets on January 6, 2026, reflecting on national issues and the anniversary of the Capitol attack.
In his first post on January 6, Schiff commented on child care policy and former President Donald Trump’s actions. He wrote, “Instead of addressing the lack of affordable child care, Trump is again choosing to attack blue states and make the crisis worse.”
Later that day, Schiff referenced the findings of the January 6th Committee and ongoing political concerns. He stated in a tweet dated January 6, “As our January 6th Committee report showed, many heroic Americans stood up to Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election. But the Big Lie did not stop after January 6th, and we need to be ready as Trump and his loyalists work again to undermine our free and fair”.
In a third tweet posted that evening, Schiff reflected personally on the events at the Capitol five years earlier: “5 years later, I still remember vividly where I was in the Capitol on January 6th. Come with me as I retrace my steps from that day.”
Schiff has represented California’s 30th District in Congress since succeeding James E. Rogan in 2001. Before joining Congress, he served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
