Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing actions by former President Donald Trump and Kash Patel. The posts, published between September 15 and September 16, 2025, question the legality of recent presidential decisions and the conduct of government officials.
On September 15, Schiff wrote: “Hey @grok, did Donald Trump pardon violent criminals who beat cops? Did Kash Patel raise money for them?”
The following day, Schiff addressed concerns over military action authorized by Trump: “Donald Trump just blew up another boat in the middle of the ocean with no legal justification. I’m drafting a resolution and forcing a vote to reclaim Congress’s power to declare war. Before Trump’s actions provoke one.”
Later on September 16, Schiff commented on Kash Patel’s appearance in the Senate: “Kash Patel came to the Senate today not to do his job, but to save his job. The hard-working men and women of the FBI deserve a Director who isn’t just performing for an audience of one.”
Schiff has served in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously held office in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960, he is currently based in Burbank. Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
