Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, posted a series of statements on his social media account in late September 2025, addressing issues related to political integrity and former President Donald Trump.
On September 21, Schiff questioned the legitimacy of certain financial transactions, posting: “Who takes $50,000 in cash in a bag if they’re doing something legitimate?”
The following day, Schiff accused Donald Trump of attempting to suppress dissent. On September 22 he wrote: “Donald Trump is making every possible effort to silence and intimidate his critics, and anyone else who stands up to him. I won’t back down.”
Later that same day, Schiff commented on the broader political climate and the role of public courage: “Donald Trump wants you to be afraid. But more and more, there are examples of everyday courage that should give us reason to hope.”
Schiff has served as a member of Congress for over two decades after replacing James E. Rogan in 2001. He previously held office in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
