Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001 and a former member of the California Senate, addressed economic and insurance issues facing Californians in a series of posts on May 5, 2026.
In one post, Schiff highlighted state-level efforts to stimulate job growth and production. He stated, “California is proving that state tax credits are an effective tool to bring jobs and production back to the Golden State. Another reason why I’m fighting to create a federal film incentive to help promote American film production across the U.S.” (May 5, 2026).
Later that day, Schiff turned his attention to concerns from wildfire victims regarding their experiences with insurance companies. He wrote, “I have heard so many concerns from wildfire victims about their experiences with insurance companies, and pressed State Farm and other insurers to explain low payouts, delayed claims, and hurdles they were putting survivors through. We must continue to hold insurers to account.” (May 5, 2026). A subsequent post included only a link: “https://t.co/W6u1qm17BN” (May 5, 2026).
Schiff has served as California’s representative in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001. Prior to this role, he was a member of the California Senate from 1996 until 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff graduated from Stanford University with a BA in 1982 before earning his JD from Harvard University in 1985.
