Adam Schiff, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district, has expressed concerns over recent actions by President Donald Trump through a series of tweets. Schiff, who has served in Congress since 2001 after replacing James E. Rogan and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000, is known for his critical stance on various policy issues.

On January 21, 2025, Schiff criticized the President’s decision to grant clemency to individuals involved in violent acts during riots. He stated that this action provided “a literal ‘Get Out of Jail Free’ card” to those who committed violence under Trump’s influence. Schiff further argued that this was not only forgiveness but also a “permission structure” for future misconduct. He added that Trump was elected with promises to lower prices but instead runs the country akin to organized crime “The President gave a literal ‘Get Out of Jail Free’ card…”.

Later on January 21, Schiff addressed potential economic impacts resulting from Trump’s executive orders and immigration policies. He warned of increased housing and food costs due to deportations affecting construction and farm workers and additional expenses stemming from tariffs imposed by Trump. According to Schiff, these measures contradict Trump’s promise of reducing prices “Here’s what Donald Trump’s executive orders…”.

In another tweet dated January 22, 2025, Schiff indicated that Trump had issued numerous executive orders the previous day. He announced plans to analyze these developments further “Trump issued a lot of executive orders yesterday…”.
