Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, has posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing current U.S. foreign policy and the state of democracy.
On December 12, 2025, Schiff criticized recent military actions in the Caribbean, writing: “The administration can try to justify the continuing military escalation in the Caribbean and repeated illegal strikes with any excuse they want. But as I told @Elex_Michaelson, Americans know what it’s really about: regime change. And they want no part of another war.”
Later that evening, he shared a brief post containing only an emoji: “” (December 13, 2025).
In a subsequent message on December 13, Schiff reflected on historical attitudes toward democracy: “We who grew up in the postwar era in the 20th century came to believe that democracy and freedom were inevitable. We were wrong. If we are to preserve our experiment in self-governance, we have to bend that arc of justice ourselves.”
Schiff has represented California’s 30th District in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
