Adam Schiff, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 30th district, shared his perspectives on recent political developments through a series of tweets on May 21, 2025.
In a tweet posted at 18:01 UTC, Schiff criticized the criteria for nominees under former President Donald Trump’s administration. He stated, “The requirements to be a Trump nominee are simple: Absolute loyalty to him…and the ability to act like an expert on TV. No wonder his Administration is a mess.”
Later that day at 21:21 UTC, Schiff addressed Secretary Zeldin’s environmental policies, asserting that “Secretary Zeldin, you have done more to dismantle environmental protections in 100 days than all of your predecessors combined. That may be a source of pride for you, but it will be a source of cancer for so many others. Cancer will be your legacy.”
In another post at 22:30 UTC, Schiff expressed concern over the cancellation of funding aimed at earthquake preparedness in California. He declared, “The Trump Administration canceled $33 million in funding to help prepare and protect Californians from earthquake damage. I am demanding @Sec_Noem and @fema reinstate these grants to protect our most vulnerable communities from these natural disasters.”
Adam Schiff has served in Congress since 2001 after succeeding James E. Rogan and has been an active voice in legislative matters concerning both state and national issues.
