Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, has used his social media platform to criticize actions by former President Donald Trump and his administration. In a series of posts on January 21, 2026, Schiff accused Trump of targeting officials and abusing government power.
On January 21, 2026, Schiff posted: “Trump was never going to stop at Mark Kelly, Jerome Powell, Letitia James, or me. Targeting Minnesota officials is just Trump’s latest abuse of the DOJ, and his most recent attempt to silence and intimidate those who stand up to him. As his enemies lists grows, so does the list https://t.co/MFmWQWn9Ch”.
He followed this with a brief post containing only a link: “https://t.co/CO0QbUQtAx”, also dated January 21, 2026.
Later that day, Schiff addressed the use of government databases for immigration enforcement: “The Trump administration’s abuse of sensitive databases for immigration enforcement purposes has been a go-to intimidation tactic to serve their mass detention and deportation agenda. But sharing data on our veterans is a disgraceful abuse even for an administration hellbent https://t.co/07QegRHpgu”.
Schiff has served in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously held office in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. He was born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently resides in Burbank. Schiff graduated from Stanford University with a BA in 1982 and earned a JD from Harvard University in 1985.
