Adam Schiff, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, has recently shared his views on several legislative issues and Senate actions through his social media account.
On March 12, 2026, Schiff criticized the Trump administration’s stance toward California’s environmental policies, stating, “The Trump administration is once again set on attacking California’s efforts to stop pollution and protect our air. This won’t benefit consumers. It benefits Big Oil. Repeatedly attempting to gut California’s clean‑air standards means more smog and more illness for https://t.co/OAu6ifCRy4”.
Later that same day, he commented on a recent Senate vote regarding emergency management funding: “Senate Republicans just BLOCKED the bill @SenAlexPadilla and I called up to reopen FEMA today. Then they demanded we vote to give billions more to ICE and CBP, without any reforms. None. Can they explain that position to people in LA, Chicago, Portland, Minneapolis or anywhere”.
On March 13, Schiff addressed the passage of new housing legislation: “Today, the Senate passed the ROAD to Housing Act, a bipartisan bill to expand the housing supply and make housing more affordable. I was proud to vote for this bill championed by @SenWarren. The House must pass this vital reform without delay.”
Schiff has served in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 after previously serving in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
