Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, has publicly criticized recent actions by the Trump administration in a series of posts on his social media account.
On April 30, 2026, Schiff addressed President Trump’s military engagement in Iran, referencing the War Powers Act. He stated, “Even if you accept the premise that Trump’s war in Iran was responding to an imminent threat, which I certainly don’t, under the War Powers Act he has no authority to continue this war past 60 days. Today, I forced a vote to assert the War Powers Act, and end the war. While we https://t.co/ij14RX6nM8”.
The following day, May 1, 2026, Schiff commented on developments within the Department of Education. He wrote, “Firing an education oversight official who refuses to give in to the Department’s pressure is Trump’s @usedgov latest intimidation tactic. We must end the brazen politicization of a bipartisan and independent committee.”
Adam Schiff has served as a member of Congress for California’s 30th District since 2001 after replacing James E. Rogan and previously held office in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
