Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district, posted a series of statements on October 15, 2025, criticizing recent actions by former President Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans regarding government operations and healthcare policy.
In a post published at 03:23 UTC, Schiff stated, “Donald Trump has been firing people who protect your health, safety and pocketbook, and who keep our country safe. The shutdown is just his latest excuse for these purges.”
Later that day, at 14:43 UTC, Schiff commented on Republican-led legislative actions, writing, “First, Republicans passed the largest health care cut in history, gutting Medicaid and putting hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes across states at risk of closure. Then, they shut down the government rather than work with Democrats to fix it. Every day of the Trump”
In a subsequent post at 23:38 UTC, Schiff addressed Congressional oversight on military actions, stating, “This is exactly what @SenTimKaine and I warned of last week when we forced a vote to stop these strikes. Congress must exercise its constitutional power to prevent the unauthorized use of force against a broadening array of targets, before we are in a regional war.”
Schiff has represented California’s 30th district in the U.S. Congress since 2001, following service in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. He was born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently resides in Burbank. Schiff holds a BA from Stanford University and a JD from Harvard University.
