Adam Schiff, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 30th district, recently shared his views on social media regarding the actions of a sitting President. His posts were made on May 14, 2025.
In one post, Schiff criticized what he described as “the single most corrupt, self-serving act of any President in American history.” He referred to this act as akin to “posting his Venmo account online – inviting cash payments from whoever needs to buy influence.” “And of course, at number 1, the meme coin.”
In another tweet posted shortly after, Schiff elaborated on his criticism by referring to it as the President’s version of “the art of the deal.” He claimed that while the President benefits financially from these deals, others are left disadvantaged. “He gets rich. You get screwed.” Schiff mentioned various unethical practices such as “shady deals,” “quid pro quos,” and “massive gifts.”
Continuing his critique, Schiff stated that the President is primarily concerned with personal financial gain. According to Schiff, this extends not only to himself but also to his family and billionaire friends. “Trump cares about one thing, and one thing only.” He concluded by asserting that these efforts have been successful for those involved.
Adam Schiff has served in Congress since 2001 after replacing James E. Rogan and previously held a position in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank, he graduated from Stanford University with a BA in 1982 and earned a JD from Harvard University in 1985.
