Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing recent developments in national security, political violence, and the Supreme Court.
On December 4, 2025, Schiff cited concerns regarding the conduct of Pete Hegseth in relation to military information disclosure. He stated: “In the Pentagon watchdog’s own words: Pete Hegseth ‘sent nonpublic DoD information identifying the quantity and strike times of manned U.S. aircraft over hostile territory over an unapproved, unsecure network.’ A fireable offense for anyone else. Now, our military has https://t.co/BlptbP5gH4”.
Later that day, Schiff commented on ongoing threats related to the events of January 6th and called for further action from federal authorities. On December 4, he wrote: “The shadow of this unsolved threat against lawmakers on January 6th is long, and has continued to hang over the Capitol in this era of political violence. The @FBI should brief the Senate as soon as possible on the circumstances leading up to this new breakthrough, and why https://t.co/Lk3aQAijw6”.
On December 5, Schiff addressed a decision by the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice John Roberts. He stated: “The Roberts Court will go down in history as having upheld the desires of Donald Trump and the GOP, rather than its commitment to justice, precedent or the rule of law. Today’s ruling — which substitutes its own fact finding for that of the lower court — is yet another example.”
Schiff has served in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 after previously serving in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
