Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, posted a series of statements on social media in late August 2025 criticizing recent federal policy initiatives and expressing support for public lands.
On August 25, Schiff commented on the current administration’s popularity and legislative agenda. He wrote, “The President is deeply unpopular. His agenda is stunningly unpopular. The Big Ugly Bill — with its vast cuts to healthcare to fund tax cuts for the rich — is historically unpopular.
So Trump leveraged Republicans in Texas to try to gerrymander a majority in the midterms.

Later that day, Schiff marked an anniversary for a federal agency dedicated to conservation efforts. He stated, “Happy birthday, @NatlParkService.
Will never stop fighting for the beautiful lands you protect.
Thank you and your amazing staff for being such good stewards of the land and sea. https://t.co/fOeEh49Sts” (August 25, 2025).
On August 26, Schiff addressed concerns about healthcare costs under new legislation associated with former President Donald Trump. He posted, “22 million Americans are facing major price hikes for their health care, thanks to Donald Trump and his Big Ugly Bill.
The Republican budget means huge cuts to Medicaid, rural hospital closures, and higher out-of-pocket costs for families across the nation. Together, these” (August 26, 2025).
Schiff has represented California’s 30th District since replacing James E. Rogan in Congress in 2001. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
