Adam Schiff, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, has publicly criticized recent federal appointments and actions through his social media posts.
On February 4, 2026, Schiff posted on X: “The DNI has no role overseeing domestic law enforcement or in managing U.S. elections — absolutely none. Unfortunately, Tulsi Gabbard has made election denial and sycophancy towards the president her only core conviction. Gabbard could do the country a great favor and resign.” In a separate post published seconds later, he shared a link without additional comment: “https://t.co/KEPoWgyZ7g”.
Continuing his criticism of federal appointments, Schiff commented on February 5, 2026: “Tom Homan? The guy who put kids in cages? That’s who the White House picked to lead ICE operations in Minnesota? If they were looking for an ‘adult in the room,’ they picked the wrong guy.”
Schiff’s comments come as part of his ongoing engagement with national policy debates. He has served as a member of Congress for over two decades after replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960, Schiff currently resides in Burbank and holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
