Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, used his social media platform on November 9 and 10, 2025, to criticize the current administration’s handling of issues related to hunger, health care costs, and legislative priorities.
On November 9, Schiff posted: “While millions of Americans are facing hunger and higher costs, the president is busy playing golf and finding new ways to enforce his cruel agenda.” This statement was made as concerns grow over rising living expenses for many Americans.
Later that day, Schiff addressed the state of health care in the United States. On November 9, he wrote: “Americans are facing health care price spikes that could leave them paying double or with no coverage at all. Families deserve more than just the same “concepts of a plan” that Trump and Republicans have been promising for 8 years.”
Continuing his criticism into the following day, Schiff declared his position on an upcoming funding bill. On November 10, he stated: “I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis. And make health insurance affordable. The American people clearly understand the stakes and the urgency. We must too. I’m voting no.”
Schiff has represented California’s 30th District in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
