Adam Schiff, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 30th district since 2001, recently shared several observations on social media regarding high-profile business dealings and their implications. His tweets highlight issues involving significant investments and transactions that have drawn public attention.
On May 14, 2025, Schiff commented on the Trump Organization’s renewed activities in Saudi Arabia. He referenced a past $2 billion investment received by Jared Kushner from the Saudis after Donald Trump’s first term as President. In his tweet, he stated: “At number 4 – Saudi Projects galore. Remember when Jared Kushner got a $2 billion investment from the Saudis after Trump left office the first time? Well the Trump Organization is back in Saudi – and just announced three brand new projects.”
In another post made shortly thereafter, Schiff addressed Elon Musk’s business maneuvers concerning Starlink deals and tariff relief negotiations with various countries. He noted: “At number 3 – Starlink deals for tariff relief. Elon Musk has his proximity to Trump to negotiate a whole raft of Starlink deals with countries desperate to get out from under tariffs. To the point where official cables essentially lay out the quid pro quo.”
Additionally, Schiff brought attention to an expensive gift involving a Boeing 747 aircraft, which he described as nearly half a billion dollars in value and requiring taxpayer-funded upgrades for retrofitting. According to Schiff’s tweet: “At number 2 – the 747. A nearly half a billion dollar ‘gift’ requiring costly taxpayer-funded upgrades and retrofitting. That Trump then gets to keep. For his personal use.”
Schiff has been serving in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and has had a long-standing career in politics that began with his tenure in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000.
