Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues related to former President Donald Trump, U.S.-Saudi relations, and academic freedom at American universities.
On November 15, 2025, Schiff criticized the current administration’s handling of investigations into Donald Trump’s connections with Jeffrey Epstein. He wrote, “This administration is working overtime to deny Donald Trump’s involvement with Jeffrey Epstein — but the American people aren’t buying it. It’s time for a real investigation. It’s time to release the full Epstein Files, like Trump promised during his campaign.”
Later that day, Schiff commented on reports involving the Trump family and Saudi Arabia: “The Trump family is chasing another real estate deal in Saudi Arabia. And the Saudis want a mutual defense agreement and access to U.S. nuclear technology. Looks like Trump and the royal family will both win, with our national security for sale. The only losers? The American” (posted November 15, 2025).
On November 16, 2025, Schiff referenced recent developments at the University of California: “A big victory for the University of California. And a call to every university across the U.S. to refuse to sacrifice academic freedom to Donald Trump. Our democracy requires your uncensored voices. And the law is on your side.”
Schiff has served in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously held office in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
