Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, addressed several issues on his Twitter account in early November 2025. His posts focused on the recognition of Vietnam War veterans, ongoing government negotiations, and rising costs impacting families.
On November 7, Schiff called attention to the sailors who died aboard the USS Frank E. Evans in 1969, stating, “In 1969, 74 Americans lost their lives aboard the USS Frank E. Evans. Because of where the ship sank, those sailors have been denied the honor and recognition of being placed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. It is long past time to right that wrong.”
Later that day, he commented on efforts by Senate Democrats to resolve a government shutdown and address health care costs: “Senate Democrats have made a reasonable, good faith offer to reopen the government and prevent massive health care price spikes. The ball is in the Republicans’ court. We are hearing the stories of families who are hurting. We must not let them down.”
On November 8, Schiff highlighted concerns about affordability for California residents: “Energy prices are climbing. Grocery prices are spiking. Donald Trump may not want to ‘hear about’ affordability, but it’s what California families are worrying about every single day.”
Schiff has represented California’s 30th District in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
