Adam Schiff, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 30th district since 2001, addressed a range of national issues in recent social media posts.
On August 30, 2025, Schiff criticized the Trump Administration’s approach to Russia and Ukraine, writing, “The Trump Administration must accept the fact that Putin is not interested in peace, only conquest. And the best way to bring this conflict to a successful end is to provide Ukraine with the means to defend itself. And to go on offense.”
In another post on September 1, 2025, Schiff highlighted the achievements of organized labor and its role in securing workplace rights: “Weekends. The 40-hour work week. Sick days. That didn’t just happen. Organized labor did that. And today, we celebrate how far we’ve come. And how far we’ve yet to go to build an economy – and a country – that works for working people.”
On September 2, 2025, Schiff commented on a legal opinion regarding military involvement in domestic affairs during Donald Trump’s presidency: “It has been a bedrock principle since our nation’s founding that America’s military must not be used to police our own communities. This opinion affirms that Donald Trump’s use of the Marines and California National Guard in L.A. was unlawful and unjustified.”
Schiff has served continuously in Congress since succeeding James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, he holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
