Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, addressed several policy and political issues in a series of posts on February 6, 2026.
In his first post at 16:04 UTC, Schiff commented on the impact of tariffs on farmers, stating, “First, many farmers haven’t received that money yet. Second, they only need it because of the administration’s destructive tariffs. And third, they would rather sell their products than be reliant on a tariff bailout fund paid by taxpayers.”
Later that day at 19:06 UTC, Schiff criticized then-President Donald Trump for his online conduct. He wrote, “Another day. Another racist post by the President of the United States. Trump continues to tell us exactly who he is. It’s time Americans believed him.”
At 20:45 UTC, Schiff highlighted legislative efforts to support rural healthcare facilities. He stated, “Glenn Medical Center had to close because of a bureaucratic change targeting rural hospitals. For months, I worked with the late-Rep. LaMalfa and @SenHydeSmith to help reopen it. Now, I’m proud our bill was signed into law, giving Glenn a fighting chance to reopen its doors in”.
Schiff has represented California’s 30th district in Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
