Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, expressed his reactions to recent events in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) between December 15 and 16, 2025.

On December 15, Schiff addressed the passing of Rob and Michele Reiner, stating: “Utterly shocked and heartbroken this morning by the news of Rob and Michele Reiner’s deaths. Rob left an indelible mark on Hollywood—creating some of the most beloved characters, shows, and films of all time. And with his wife Michele, they championed democracy, humanity, and a”.

Later that day, he shared a statement from Jewish Senate Democrats regarding violence in Australia: “Jewish Senate Democrats Statement on Deadly Attack on Sydney’s Jewish Community on First Night of Hanukkah”.

On December 16, Schiff reflected on gun violence after attending a vigil: “Last week, I spoke at an annual vigil in honor of victims and survivors of gun violence. Mere days later, families both near and far were shattered again by the acts of violence that have sadly become too routine despite their horror and senselessness. We can and must do”.

Schiff has served as a member of Congress for over two decades after replacing James E. Rogan in 2001. He previously held office in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960, Schiff is currently based in Burbank. He holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
