Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district, shared a series of posts on his Twitter account addressing international conflict, local academic achievements, and criticism of former President Donald Trump’s foreign policy proposals.
On January 10, 2026, Schiff commented on hypothetical foreign aggression against the United States: “If anyone blockaded the U.S., launched a military operation to make an arrest on U.S. soil, let alone seized our natural resources, and killed civilians in the process, we’d consider it an act of war.”
The following day, January 11, 2026, Schiff congratulated students from California Polytechnic State University campuses for their performance at a prominent parade: “Congratulations to @CalPoly and @calpolypomona students for taking the top award at this year’s Rose Parade! California is home to some of the greatest colleges and universities in the world, and I applaud these students’ ingenuity and creativity.”
Later that same day, Schiff criticized former President Trump’s reported intentions regarding financial aid to Greenland: “While Americans are struggling to afford health care and groceries, Trump is more concerned about sending $100,000 each to the citizens of Greenland. I guess it’s Denmark First now.”
Schiff has served in Congress since 2001 after replacing James E. Rogan as representative for California’s 30th district. He previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff graduated from Stanford University with a BA in 1982 before earning his JD from Harvard University in 1985.
