Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, posted a series of updates on social media between April 12 and April 13, 2026, addressing international developments, student engagement at the Capitol, and federal funding for local communities.
On April 12, Schiff commented on recent political events in Hungary. He wrote: “Hungary’s people just sent a resounding message to its leaders and democracies around the world in defeating wannabe dictator Victor Orbán. Authoritarian regimes breed corruption and lower the quality of life. And when people stand together, they can defeat the forces of”.
The following day, on April 13, Schiff highlighted a visit from students at Pacific Ridge School: “Students from Pacific Ridge School stopped by the Capitol, and they brought some California weather with them!”
Later that day, he announced new federal funding for Kern County: “Proud to have secured $5.3 million in federal dollars headed directly to Kern County communities. This funding will support critical infrastructure and rural health care improvements, and workforce training, ensuring California gets the investments it deserves.”
Schiff has served as a member of Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously held office in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
