Adam Schiff, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 30th district since 2001, addressed several ongoing political and international issues in a series of posts on his official social media account in October 2025.
On October 12, 2025, Schiff commented on the federal government shutdown and rising insurance costs, urging for action to resolve the impasse. He stated, “The government has been shut down for nearly half a month. Insurance costs are doubling for millions of families. And you’re still trying to rewrite history on the first bipartisan vote to impeach a U.S. president? Put down your phone and focus on ending the Trump shutdown.”
The following day, October 13, Schiff addressed developments in Israel regarding the release of hostages by Hamas. He wrote, “I’m relieved to see familes reuniting today in Israel, as Hamas has finally released the remaining Israeli hostages after more than 700 days of horrible captivity. May this important and overdue moment pave the way to a full and lasting end to these years of bloodshed.”
Later that same day, Schiff reflected on recent political developments in the United States, referencing former President Donald Trump. He posted, “I tried to capture what Donald Trump has done to destroy our democracy in the last 9 months … in 9 minutes. It took me a bit longer. Here’s where we are in this moment, as a nation of laws that has met its most dangerous moment.”
Schiff has served as California’s 30th District representative since 2001 after replacing James E. Rogan. Prior to his time in Congress, he served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960, Schiff is currently 62 years old and resides in Burbank. He holds a BA from Stanford University (1982) and a JD from Harvard University (1985).
