Adam Schiff, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, shared his views on several topics through social media posts dated May 12, 2025. Schiff, who succeeded James E. Rogan in Congress and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000, is known for his active engagement on issues ranging from environmental policies to national governance.
On May 12, 2025, Adam Schiff highlighted the impact of clean air standards in California by sharing an image from 1955. He stated: “Look at this. This is what California looked like in 1955. Clean air standards have brought us blue skies and helped keep our communities healthy. Republicans are trying to roll all of that back.”
Later that day, Schiff criticized the president’s attitude towards using Air Force One. He tweeted: “The president considers it a great imposition to ride on Air Force One. Poor thing. It lacks the amenities of an ‘air palace.’ He says he’d be ‘stupid’ to turn it down, which is how he views abiding by the Constitution.”
In another post on the same day, Schiff expressed relief over the return of a hostage named Edan. He emphasized urgency for others still held captive by stating: “Thrilled that Edan is finally coming home. Every single hostage must be released and returned to their families. Now.”
Schiff was born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently resides in Burbank. A graduate of Stanford University with a BA earned in 1982 and Harvard University with a JD earned in 1985, he has built a long-standing career in public service.
