Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district since 2001, posted a series of messages on social media addressing Election Day in California, federal support for university research, and election integrity.
On November 4, 2025, Schiff reminded Californians about the importance of participating in the electoral process. He wrote, “Today is Election Day, California. Make your plan to vote — your ballot is your voice.”
Later that day, Schiff commented on a visit from Ellen Neufeldt, President of California State University San Marcos (CSUSM), to Washington D.C. He stated his commitment to securing federal funding for university research: “Great to have @CSUSM President Ellen Neufeldt visit our nation’s capital. To support the groundbreaking research being done at CSUSM, we need to ensure access to critical federal funds. I’m doing all I can to make it so.”
Addressing concerns about election security later that evening, Schiff responded directly to ongoing claims by former President Donald Trump regarding election fraud: “California’s elections are not rigged. Trump isn’t even on the ballot today and he’s still pushing baseless conspiracy theories to undermine confidence in our elections. But Californians are having none of it.”
Schiff has served as a member of Congress since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently residing in Burbank at age 62, Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
