Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district and former California state senator, posted a series of statements on March 12, 2026, addressing legislative priorities, foreign policy, and antisemitism.
In his first post at 17:29 UTC, Schiff wrote: “Our disaster recovery efforts should not be held up by Republican’s demands to give more money to ICE without any reforms. I’m headed to the floor with @SenAlexPadilla to reject that false choice and call up legislation to open FEMA today.”
Later in the day at 18:54 UTC, Schiff commented on the ongoing Iran conflict and former President Donald Trump’s response: “Trump calls the Iran war — which has already killled 7 Americans and hundreds of civilians — ‘an excursion.’ And he’s spending tens of billions of dollars on it. Does that make your life great again yet?”
At 20:25 UTC, Schiff expressed support for a local religious community after an attack: “My heart is with the Temple Israel congregation as we witness another horrifying attack on the Jewish community. Antisemitic hate must have no place in our country. We must condemn it in the strongest terms.”
Schiff has represented California’s 30th District since replacing James E. Rogan in 2001 and previously served in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960, he currently resides in Burbank. He holds a BA from Stanford University (1982) and a JD from Harvard University (1985).
