Adam Schiff, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 30th district, posted a series of statements on his social media account on October 9, 2025, addressing legislative actions and recent events affecting Americans.
In his first post on October 9, Schiff announced a legislative effort with Senator Tim Kaine: “BREAKING: I just forced a vote with @SenTimKaine to block the unauthorized boat strikes in the Caribbean. In an important step forward, the vote was bipartisan, even if it fell two votes short. Sadly, as these strikes get worse, support will only grow for another War Powers”.
Later that day, Schiff referenced the aftermath of wildfires in California: “Ten months ago, the Palisades and Eaton fires devastated our communities, stole lives, livelihoods and homes, and broke the hearts of every Californian. This arrest will not bring back homes, or loved ones, but bringing an alleged perpetrator to justice is nonetheless an”.
Schiff also commented on ongoing government operations during a shutdown: “Millions of Americans are facing higher costs and working without pay because Donald Trump refuses to work with Democrats to reopen the government. But not to worry, essential work goes on — like construction of the President’s $200 million ballroom. Priorities.”
Adam Schiff has represented California’s 30th District in Congress since 2001 after previously serving in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000. He was born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently resides in Burbank. Schiff holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
