Adam Schiff, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 30th district since 2001, recently shared his thoughts on several pressing issues via social media. Schiff, who has been active in politics since serving in the California Senate from 1996 to 2000, addressed concerns ranging from antisemitism to LGBTQ+ rights and government operations.
On June 2, 2025, Schiff expressed his concern about recent events in Boulder. He described the situation as “bone-chilling” following “another violent, targeted attack on the Jewish community”. This incident marked the second such attack within two weeks. Schiff emphasized the need to eliminate antisemitism from society and offered prayers for the victims.
Later that day, Schiff turned his attention to Pride Month and its significance amidst challenges faced by LGBTQ+ Americans. In a tweet posted at 13:10 UTC, he remarked that “the rights and freedoms of countless LGBTQ+ Americans are under attack”. He called for unity and affirmed that identity and love should be sources of pride regardless of political pressures.
In another update on June 2nd at 17:43 UTC, Schiff shared positive news regarding USDA offices in California. After urging the Trump administration to reconsider their closure plans, he announced that @SecRollins has informed me of their work with the General Services Administration to ensure that many of these offices will remain open.
Schiff was born in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1960 and currently resides in Burbank. A graduate of Stanford University (BA) and Harvard University (JD), he has dedicated much of his career to public service.
