Later that evening at 22:46 UTC, Schiff criticized former President Donald Trump’s environmental policies. He stated, “Donald Trump is allowing Big Oil to belch harmful pollutants into our air. In a follow-up tweet at 23:55 UTC, Schiff continued his criticism and referenced legislative action taken with Senator Whitehouse. He wrote, “Donald Trump is giving Big Oil free rein to pump unregulated methane into our air. Today, @SenWhitehouse and I forced a vote to stop this license to pollute, to protect the public’s right to clean air, and to help stop climate disasters.”
