Burbank, CA – On June 2, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) released the following statement on yesterday’s SCOTUS decision in Glacier Northwest v. International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 174, which ruled that employers can sue employees for striking if they think it caused damage to the company:
“This ruling is a clear attack on union workers and their right to organize for better wages and working conditions. This Supreme Court is opening the door to dangerous retaliation by corporations and further weakening the protections in place for union workers. It’s just the latest example of how this partisan court is tipping the scale in favor of corporations and special interests and why we desperately need to expand and reform the Supreme Court.”
